Wind Logistics Group chaired the “Global Energy Transition and the Supply Chain” panel at Breakbulk Europe 2022 in Rotterdam

The unfortunate situation in Ukraine and the stimulus packages post COVID-19 are the macro factors that boost the pace of the green transition. The implications of this to the transport and logistics industry was discussed at a panel at the Breakbulk Europe 2022 exhibition and conference in Rotterdam on May 18, 2022. Wind Logistics Group facilitator/Panticon managing partner, Thomas Poulsen, was the moderater of the panel.

The event took place on MS Teams and we were the organizers of the summit alongside Energy Cluster Denmark. This time, the focus was on where energy and transport meet in the wind sector. The summit ran all day and a group of great speakers gave their expert insights on the summit topic.

Digital "Gå Hjem"/After Work Meeting about green fuels in offshore wind operations & maintenance on November 24, 2020, 16:00-18:00.

The green transformation is making new strides across more geographies around the world. Wind energy plays an important role and wind turbines are erected onshore as well as offshore. The vessels used to construct and maintain the offshore wind farms should make use of green fuels to reduce emissions. The operations & maintenance of offshore wind farms runs for 25-30 years and greener fuels can therefore make a real difference here. This is the topic of the day.

Wind Logistics Group on the growing logistics market for wind turbines

On September 16 2020, Thomas Poulsen presented during one of MDC's Lunch Menu: Titbits of maritime knowledge, stories and trends live video conference lunch sessions. MDC TITBITS is an initiative designed to do online knowledge-sharing in an informal lunch learning setting during times of Covid-19 restrictions. The talk was given by Thomas in his capacity as facilitator of the Wind Logistics Group. In the online talk with accompanying presentation, Thomas Poulsen focused on the growing wind industry and the importance of wind energy logistics globally. As part of his talk, Thomas also provided background on the cross-supply chain Wind Logistics Group forum.

Wind Logistics Group continues

Wind Logistics Group is the continuation of the academic Global Energy Shipping and Logistics PhD Research Project Reference Group Forum which concluded in 2018 when Thomas Poulsen completed his PhD at Aalborg University. The group now continues with TINV (Transportens InnovationsNetVærk) providing the platform for the meetings and Thomas Poulsen facilitating in collaboration with a group of companies representing the supply chain of the entire wind energy industry.
